Your Fastest Path To Six Figures

It’s common in the online space for us to use six-figures as the “made it” goal. AKA, when we’ve hit six-figures in revenue in a calendar year, we’ve officially become a real business owner.

And while I actually think that metric is arbitrary, and the sentiment is a bit garbage, I do know that many people have the goal of six-figures set because that’s what they need to replace their current income and move into business full-time.

So today, I wanted to share with you what I think the fastest path to six figures is so that you can adjust your own strategy accordingly.

I hope to see you Monday. Let’s just start by addressing the irony here. I have been very transparent on many occasions about the fact that I actually have not made six figures in revenue in one calendar year yet with my business. So. You may be wondering, well, what makes you qualified to talk about the fastest path to six figures?

What makes me qualified is experience. I know what I did wrong in my business, if that had been my goal. It wasn’t necessarily my goal, it was to hit six figures right off the bat. But had that been my goal, I know exactly what I should have done differently because I work with multiple six figure, even in some cases seven figure, businesses.

As clients and I see what they’ve done in their business and what worked and how they got to where they are And it’s made it very clear what I did not do right had that been my goal. So no nothing’s changed I have not yet hit six figures in one calendar year in my business but I do have a very good idea of how if I was starting over and my goal was to hit six figures because I needed to for whatever reason if that was my goal.

I know what I would do differently And the first thing is that I would have one service based offer. That’s what I would start with. Why service? Well, because you can make more money off of service based offers more easily. When it comes to making the money, let’s just face it, one service based offer, you’re making multiple hundreds of dollars, sometimes multiple thousands, depending on what your service is and who the client is.

You’re making all of that money Off of one single client. You just have to have one person that wants to invest in you versus if you start with Educational offers like I did. Well, you have to find a lot of people to make the same amount of money a service That’s 500 a month versus a course that’s 300.

Well, I just need one person to decide to work with me for three months to make 1, 500 versus if I want to make 1, 500 with a one time purchase of 300, that’s what I’m

And yes, in theory, and in practice as well, you can make more with those educational offers in the long run, right? Over time, as you grow your audience and you have more and more people willing to buy, you can. Make the offer up front and then you can just sell it. It’s a less time consuming Offer so you can sell way more of those and make more money in the long run However, when you’re starting off you don’t have that option, right?

You don’t have that built an audience unless you’re someone who’s been building an audience for free for years You’re not going to be able to jump into education based offers and make six figures right off the bat However, it is not difficult to jump into a service based offer Well, I don’t want to say it’s not difficult.

It’s not all that outrageous. It’s completely possible. This is, I guess, a good way to say that. It’s completely possible to make six figures in your first year of business with a service based offer, particularly if you’re doing these other things that I’m going to share with you today. So that’s why I would say service based.

When I first started off, I was very adamant that I wanted to be an Educational, an educator, period. I wanted to continue to be able to teach. And so that’s what I was really passionate about and I’m really glad that that’s the route I took. And now I do offer services and I do love working with my clients, but I love getting to educate.

That is my true passion. And so I’m not upset about the way that I went about it, but if I was, you know, really hoping for that six figures, I did not choose the fastest path to that. The other part of that one service based offer is the one. So we’ve talked about why service, but why just one? Why are we only focusing on one specific offer?

And that’s because it’s easiest to iterate and improve and sell an offer when it’s the only thing you’re doing. The more you stretch yourself thin with different offers, the harder it’s going to be to get clients. And that’s strictly because when you were just in one offer and you’re focused on that one offer and you’re working on that one offer day in and day out, you begin to see how you can improve it.

You begin to see why people want it and need it. You begin to see what you Who is your ideal client and who isn’t and when you’re just totally immersed in that It makes it so much easier for you to actually market that one offer Which allows you to bring in more clients that are a better fit who will love what you do and then help you market and do that yourself and say, Hey, I worked with this person.

They did XYZ for me. They’re incredible. You need them. That’s much more likely to happen if you’re focused on truly one specific offer, which speaking of marketing, you also want to have one marketing strategy in place. That’s it. Now. Within that one marketing strategy, you’ll probably remember from past podcast episodes where I’ve talked about growth and nurture strategies being part of one marketing strategy.

Every marketing strategy has two parts. You’ve got your growth strategy and your nurture strategy. My suggestion would be your nurture strategy is your content. And that means that you want to have one website, one social media platform, an email newsletter, one free opt in that will lead to that one service.

One welcome sequence and one sales sequence, both of which lead to that one service. And so that way with your nurture strategy and with your content, it’s really easy to create that content and to make sure that you’re nurturing well through your nurture strategy and through your marketing because you only have one specific offer.

And so it makes that side of your marketing strategy. And then when it comes to your growth strategy, my suggestion would be to focus on connections. There’s a lot of different growth strategies out there. You could host a summit, be in a bundle, host a private podcast, do this, do that. But I would suggest as you’re getting started and if you want the fastest path to six figures is to get out there and connect, find networking groups, both online, virtually and in your local area.

Connect, connect, connect and let that be your focus for growth. And if you can sit there and focus on, I’ve got my one growth strategy, which is connecting with others. I’ve got my one nurture strategy, which is my content strategy that feeds people from my social media to my opt in to my, uh, One service and I’ve got that one service that is going to be your fastest path to six figures and it’s not glamorous It’s not necessarily fun and exciting but if you can focus on just one Service based offer and stick with that one offer and not get shiny object syndrome until you fit those six figures That’s going to be your fastest path to six figures.

Now, your action step for this week, I would love to see you, if you don’t already have that offer, brainstorm what that offer would be. But if you do already have that offer, brainstorm what a great opt in would be for that. Because that’s going to be the next thing you want to have set up. Once you’ve got your offer in place, what is a great freebie that will lead really naturally into your offer?

So that would be my action step for you. Make sure you’ve got that in place. And then this week’s book recommendation is None of This is True by Lisa Jewell. This book was, it’s a, it’s a psychological thriller. If you haven’t read any of Lisa Jewell’s other books, they’re all great. But this one was a lot of fun because it was about a podcaster and it definitely made my It made me think.

I’ll leave it at that, but I highly recommend that book and I will link to that in the show notes. And until next time, my friend, I hope that you’ll go out and uncomplicate your marketing and business.
