Curious about what time management & business strategy can do for you? Here’s a peek behind the curtain with a client showcase.
I’m so excited to share this showcase with you, because Darcie was my first ever client. She was the first to take a chance on me, and not only was she just the most ideal client ever, but she was also so encouraging of me.
One of the things I loved most about working with Darcie was her passion for what she does. She’s all about helping others get out of the cycle of debt, and actually growing their wealth over at Green Bites Project. Each week, hearing her talk about her clients and programs, and what she does was so inspirational because she truly just lit up as she spoke. If you need help with getting out of the paycheck to paycheck life, head over to her website and check her out.
When we first began working together, Darcie was overwhelmed by everything she was trying to fit into each day. The problem was, she loved everything she was doing, and wasn’t sure where she could cut back – because really, what she wanted was more of it all.
Which is where I came in. Together, we worked on finding more balance in her life so that she could have more time for enjoying all the things she loved. But, I’m going to let her tell you how she feels about our work together.
Here’s what Darcie had to say about her new time management strategy …
What’s your favorite part about your new time management skills?
It’s helping me with better balance of life and my energy. It’s helped me be even more realistic about my energy. I have to be so much judicious about where I spend my time so I can balance my work life and pouring good quality time into my husband and family.
I’ve learned to make time for the things that matter the most to me.
Do you think these learned skills will impact your business?
Absolutely! I love my work, it’s like a third child to me. Throughout working with you, I began seeing how my time and energy is so limited.
I love my family and my work, but I’ve got to set up boundaries. It’s a transforming shift to make if you aren’t being super intentional about it. Since I only have limited time to work, I’ve got to be more selective about what projects I work on and make sure they serve my goals.
This sounds so much easier said than done and having the accountability to make sure it happens is crucial.
Did we successfully accomplish your time management goals? What was your favorite part about working together?
My goal was to do the thing called “work less, do more”. Yes, we achieved my goals. You were great about helping me come up creative solutions for all the different things going on with my business during our time together.
Also, our work together coincided with COVID-19 crisis, so our goals changed with also homeschooling my children during this time. I really loved how we gradually implemented solutions so I can try out new ideas, see how they worked, and then we refined to continually get to the place I’m at now.
You have helped me think totally differently about batching, Pomodoro techniques, email management, and where my time goes, in general.
All around, it’s been SO amazing to work on my most precious resource, my time. I can never get more time, my kids won’t be young forever, so making sure I’m maximizing this has been lifechanging.

What transformation did you see in your life?
I was looking for ways to do more in my business, but conserve my energy for my family and me. I am a really goal-oriented person for my business, but wanted to preserve my energy for my family and myself too. Basically, I wanted to be everything for everyone but as an introvert and empath, I just cannot.
I now work faster. I put up more boundaries on my time. I’ve learned to say no more often. I’ve freed up my schedule to add more white space. I’ve gotten more realistic about my schedule so I don’t wind up frustrated or running myself ragged. I give my kids and husband my best self, rather than the tired, drained side of me.
I’ve also added more movement to my schedule. Amanda helped me learn about batching and time blocking too! All around, it’s been SO amazing to work on my most precious resource, my time. I can never get more time, my kids won’t be young forever, so making sure I’m maximizing this has been lifechanging.
If you were to talk about your life before working with me versus after, how would you compare the two?
I’ve learned to say no more! This is a difficult skill. It’s hard.
I’ve become so much more realistic about what I can and can’t do with my time and energy. I used to operate like I had no limitations on my time, but it made me much more stressed and disappointed when reality set in.
While there’s no such as work/life balance, I feel more balanced throughout my daily life. The days matter. I’m making more time for cooking (you know, not slinging dinner together, LOL) which makes me so happy, spending amazing quality 1:1 time with my kids that has strengthened my relationship with them even more, my health is better, reading more, and I’m still being productive with my work.
