Best of Chasing Simple 2021
As we wrap up 2021, I’m realizing that we’re 90 episodes into this podcast. And that’s a LOT of content. You’ve likely not listened to every episode, so I wanted to take some time today to highlight some of the best episodes of 2021.
First, I’m going to share about the top 5 most downloaded episodes of the year. But, I’m recording this in October. So, that means that some of the 2021 episodes haven’t even aired yet! Not only that, but obviously, the episodes closer to the beginning of the year have had more opportunity to get downloaded.
So, I’m going to also share 5 other favorites of mine that I think are can’t misses. These episodes either haven’t been released yet as of recording this one, or they were in the top 10 but missed the cut for the top 5.

As we wrap up 2021, I’m realizing that we’re 90 episodes into this podcast and that’s a lot of content you likely not listened to every episode. So I wanted to take some time today to highlight some of the best episodes of 2021. First, I’m going to share about the top five most downloaded episodes of the year, but I am recording this in October.
So that means that some of the 2021 episodes haven’t even aired yet. Not only that, but obviously in the episodes closer to the beginning and middle of the year have had a lot more opportunity to get marketed and download. So I’m going to also share five other favorites of mine that I think are can’t misses these episodes either haven’t been released yet as of recording this one or they were in the top 10, but maybe missed the cut for the top five.
So grab a pen or get ready to scroll back in your podcast player and hit download because these episodes, these are ones that you’re going to want to make sure that you add to your to listen list. You’re listening to Episode 90 of the Chasing Simple Podcast. And I’m your host, Amanda Warfield. Let’s dive in.
So the most downloaded episode of 2021 is Episode 67. How To Stop Neglecting Your Personal Goals with Laken Edwards. I am not surprised in any way that this is the most downloaded episode of the year for two reasons first, because Laken’s amazing. And because she’s just the goals queen, and we all know that. But two, because I think it’s indicative of the fact that we as business owners are.
Terrible at setting aside our business goals in order to work on our personal goals. And maybe that’s not true for you, but I know it’s true for me. And based on how many downloads this episode got, I think it’s a pretty common theme for a lot of business owners. So if you are someone who knows that you struggle with that, if you know that you want to spend more time focused on your personal goals and less time focused on your business goals. You’re going to want to check out episode 67 because she is going to share all about how you can make sure you are not neglecting those personal goals. And if you have listened and maybe you need a refresher again, that is episode 67, How To Stop Neglecting Your Personal Goals with Laken Edwards.
The second most downloaded episode of the year was Episode 42. My Schedule for Creating Consistent Content inside of this episode, I’m sharing exactly how I stay consistent with my content and how I make sure that I’m not ghosting you as my audience member, even during holidays, even when I’m taking time off, episodes are still going out. I am very, very, very intentional about making sure that I don’t ghost you as an audience, as a listener that every week there’s something new. Even if you’re not interested in it that week, there’s always something going out. Even if I’m taking time off, I’m not going to ghost you. And this episode is all about how I make sure I do that. So again, that’s episode number 42, My Schedule For Creating Consistent Content.
The third, most downloaded episode of 2021 is Episode 51 Ten Routines to Simplify Your Business. I know that most of my listeners are solopreneurs inside hustlers and because a lot of us are solopreneurs inside hustlers, there’s a lot to do on our plates. There’s a lot to running a business and we don’t have help. We’re not outsourcing. We don’t have team members. We don’t have people underneath us. We don’t have contract workers. We’re doing it all ourselves. And therefore I’ve had to find ways to simplify my business as much as possible so I can automate as much as possible so that I make sure I’m staying on top of things. I have all of these different routines that I use, so that I am not having to worry about various aspects of my business until it’s time for that routine again. So I break this episode into quarterly routines, a monthly routines, a weekly routines and daily routines. And I go through 10 different routines that I have that I use that keep my business running smoothly, efficiently, that keep me organized that keep me on top of things. So that my business isn’t falling behind in all of these different aspects so that I can continue to be a solopreneur and not hire team members at this point. So if you feel like your business is out of control and that you can just never get to all the things you need to get to, you’re definitely gonna want to check out episode 51, 10 Routines to Simplify Your Business.
The fourth, most downloaded episode of 2021 is Episode number 52, Looking To Up Your Motivation and Self-discipline. This is for you if you feel like you just never have the motivation or the energy or the, the self-discipline to get it all done. If you feel like you need someone to kind of whip you into shape and to help you get disciplined and to help you make sure you’re productive and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, this episodes for you. spoiler alert, I’m actually going to go over why relying on motivation and relying on self discipline, why that’s not a great idea.
And I will also go over what you should be doing instead, how you should be setting up your time so that you can be the most productive in the least amount of time in order to get the most done without feeling like you need to wait around for motivation or force yourself to be self-disciplined without motivation. There are certainly times and places for that in business. If we’re constantly trying to force ourselves to get motivated or force ourself to work without motivation, we’re not going to get that much done. So yes, there is a time and place for being motivated and for self-discipline without being motivated. But also there’s some other things we can focus on and we can do to make it. So that’s not all we’re relying on.
Finally the fifth, most downloaded episode of 2021 it’s Episode 41. What Every Side Hustler Needs to Know with Carrie Roberts. And again, zero surprises that this episode is in the top five because Carrie is phenomenal and so organized. And so on top of things. And also because I know many of you that live. Our side hustlers. So if you’re a side hustler, this is definitely a great episode for you to go listen to it’s encouraging and practical. And I highly highly recommend that if you have not checked it out to go do so. And even if you have, go give it another listen, because Carrie has a lot of really great encouragement and it’s a really good conversation around the idea of side hustling and just some stereotypes that we tend to have around side hustles.
Now I want to move into some of the can’t miss 2021 episodes. Now some of these were pretty high up and downloads. They just weren’t in the top five. And some of these actually, as I’m recording, this haven’t even been released yet, but they will be released in 2021 before you listen to this episode. So I wanted to put these in here because they’re definitely cannot miss listens, even if they’re not super highly ranked in the downloads just yet, because they haven’t been out very long.
So the first one that is a cannot mess is Episode 77, The Fastest and Simplest Way to Create a Successful Offer. So often we put ourselves in this box of here are all the steps we need to take and all the things we need to do in order to make our first offer or our next offer perfect and ready to go. But you actually can create an offer pretty quickly and simply, and still have it be a success.
And I walked through the steps on how to do that inside of this episode. So I highly recommend that if you are planning new offers for 2022, that you check this out, because yes, it is fast, if it’s something where you’re trying to create an offer based on shiny object syndrome, it’s probably not going to be super successful versus if it’s an intentional creation. This method works really, really well. So episode 77, The Fastest and Simplest Way to Create a Successful Offer.
Next one that I want you to check out is episode number 78, 10 things every Course Creator Needs to Hear. If you are planning on creating a course in 2022. This episode is a cannot miss you need to go listen to it. Before you create your next course because I’m sharing things that I wish I knew before I created my first course. So episode 78, 10 Things Every Course Creator Needs to Hear. Go listen to that one if you are planning on any courses in 2022.
The next one is episode number 85, 4 Steps to Strategic Content. This is one of the ones that as I’m recording this, it hasn’t even aired yet. So I have no idea what the downloads look like, but I think it’s so important and it is a must listen. Because I hear all the time from my students and my clients that they want to figure out content that’s strategic, but they feel like they only have the time in the mental capacity to pull out random ideas that they can just quickly throw together when it comes to creating content. So I’m sharing four steps that you can take to create and come up with strategic content so that you’re not just having to pull those random ideas out of your head.
And then the next episode is in a similar vein episode, 69, 7 Places to Find Content Inspiration. This is one of those that was in the top 10 for most downloaded for the year. So I would highly recommend that if you haven’t listened to it, that you go check it out. But inside of this episode, this was created specifically for you. If you feel like you have no clue what to say. So the last one I talked about is. if you’re struggling. I mean, really anyone, but more so along the lines of I’m struggling. I have ideas. I can pull random ideas out, but I’m struggling with making it strategic. this, one’s more so for you.
If you’re like, I have no idea. I don’t even know where to start. I have no clue what to write about when it comes time to plan my content. And that’s where you’re getting stuck. Episode 69 is definitely one for you. And then the final episode that I want to highlight is episode number 83. What Having a Plan For Your Year Can Do For Your Business.
Again, this one hasn’t even aired yet when this comes out. So I don’t have any download numbers, but I’m pretty sure it’s going to be a favorite because you’re hearing from my real clients about what they accomplished this year, because they had a strong plan, both for when they were launching and what they were launching.
And. When they were taking time off and all of that stuff, but also a strategic content marketing plan. So episode 83, What Having a Plan For Your Year Can Do For Your Business, definitely recommend that you go check that one out if you have it. Yeah. And this week’s action step is that I would love to know what your favorite episode of 2021 was.
Please send me a DM over on Instagram and let me know. I want to know what you love, because that is how I can create more of what you love. So if you loved a certain topic or loved a specific episode, please let me know so that I can make sure that I’m creating more of that for you. This week’s book recommendation is Red Rising by Pierce Brown.
This is a dystopian action heavy book. So if you are not someone who likes a lot of action, you might not like this, but this is one of my favorite reads of the year. I actually only read it because Russell really encouraged me to. He said he was going to read it and he’d heard great things about it. And so I said, okay, why not?
I love dystopian. Sci-fi let’s do it. it’s actually two different sets of trilogies. I’ve only finished the first trilogy so far, but the first one is Red Rising by Pierce Brown. If you love scifi or you love dystopian novels, you will love this one. And that’s a wrap for the last episode of 2021. Please make sure that you remember to send me DM. Let me know what your favorite episode of 2021 was. And until next time I hope that you go out and uncomplicate your life in biz.
